Walk Overview<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t

The High Force Walk offers two scenic routes for visitors to explore. The first option is a short, 10-minute walk along a well-maintained gravel path, gently descending to the stunning waterfall.<\/p>\n

For a more immersive experience, the second route provides a 30-40 minute circular loop. This route takes you down the same gravel path to the waterfall, then leads you back through a variety of terrain, including uneven ground, several steps, and a peaceful woodland trail. Both options offer breath-taking views of the waterfall and surrounding nature, making for an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome at High Force Waterfall and in the Hotel. We would ask that visitors please keep dogs on leads during your visit to protect our sensitive plants and wildlife. Be especially careful with dogs around the car park area, not only for the safety of your dog but also to protect livestock in adjoining fields.<\/p>\n

We also offer pet friendly rooms at the hotel. A small fee of \u00a315 per dog applies, and if you let us know at the time of booking, we\u2019ll add some \u2018doggie treats\u2019 to your room ready for your arrival. Situated where we are, you\u2019ll be spoilt for choice for \u2018walkies\u2019. Car Parking<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t

If you are coming to visit us at the High Force Hotel and Waterfall, we have a 24-hour car park available right outside the Hotel. Please note, this is managed by an external company and there is a charge to use the car park, unless you are staying at the Hotel overnight.<\/p>\n

Prices are \u00a34 for 4 hours, \u00a36 for 6 hours or \u00a312 for 24 hours and tickets can be purchased at the ticket machine or at the Hotel. If you would like all-day parking please pay inside the Hotel.<\/p>\n

We have a limited number of motorhome spaces available. These need to be pre-booked in advance for a charge of \u00a312 per night.<\/p>\n

The Tramper Network<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t

High Force Waterfall is one of the North Pennines Outdoor Mobility Tramper hire site locations.<\/p>\n

The Tramper route starts from the High Force Hotel and winds gently down through beautiful woodland above the river. The magnificent fall gradually reveals itself and you can really appreciate the power of the water as it hits the plunge pool.<\/p>\n

North Pennines Outdoor Mobility offers a network of Tramper hire sites to explore the North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark. The use of drones on or above the ground at High Force is strictly prohibited without express prior permission, this is to protect the health and safety of all visitors and staff.\u00a0 Drones have also been known to cause disturbances to wildlife and birds. High Force can be extremely dangerous and unforgiving by nature; you must respect its tremendous power.\u00a0 Children and pets should be kept under close supervision at all times, especially at the water\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n

In the interests of the safety of all our guests, visitors and staff, we respectfully ask that you follow all safety advice and instructions during your visit. At certain times the gate leading from the viewing gallery down to the water’s edge may be closed for visitor safety.<\/p>\n

We ask visitors never to enter the water for any reason. The water levels can change suddenly and without warning, the current is extremely powerful.<\/p>\n

Please keep to the footpaths at High Force. We are lucky enough to be situated in a recognised North Pennines National Landscape, in addition to which, Natural England have designated much of our site a SSSI, this means a site of Special Scientific Interest. As custodians we are tasked with protecting the site and it\u2019s sensitive nature and wildlife. Please help us to do this by following the site notices and keeping to the footpaths.\u00a0 Please ensure that you use the litter bins provided along the route, litter can cause serious problems for our wildlife and waterways.<\/p>\n
