Raby Estate is looking to recruit a capable Grouse Beat Keeper in County Durham.
The successful applicant will be responsible for a beat that forms part of Raby Estates’ principal moor. You will be part of the larger keepering team in Teesdale, working under the Head Keeper.
What you’ll be doing
The beat is productive but does include an area with improvement potential and would suit a self-motivated, hardworking, well presented individual.
You will ideally have at least 3 years’ grouse keepering experience as you will need the ability to run your own beat. For the right candidate less experience may be considered. A sound understanding of legislation and stewardship agreements with a drive for conservation is preferred.
You must have your firearms and shotgun certificates, full UK driving licence and your own working dogs. It is also preferable that you are certified for ATV, chainsaw and spraying but training will be provided where needed.
We’re looking for someone with a conscientious attitude, who can show honesty, integrity, enthusiasm and capacity for hard work.
