Teesdale provides the ideal setting for water sports including kayaking.
Individual and operator permits are available to purchase.
Season operates on an annual basis running from 1st April to 30th September.
Permit fees apply to help us maintain the natural area. It also helps us to reduce our impact on the local environment by working with nature to protect sensitive wildlife. We are committed to preserving and protecting our site for future generations to enjoy.
Individual permits can be purchased via our online system, prior to your visit. Alternatively, you can purchase on the day at our sales kiosk located at High Force Hotel.
Operator permits are to be requested and purchased via the Raby Castle Leisure and Tourism Team by email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can telephone us on 01833 660202 to discuss your requirements further. NOTE: We will require a copy of current public liability insurance cover for the duration of permit.
Safety & Access
High Force can be extremely dangerous and unforgiving by nature; you must respect its tremendous power. In the interests of the safety of all our guests, visitors and staff, we respectfully ask that you follow all safety advice and instructions during your visit.
Please keep to the footpaths at High Force. We are lucky enough to be situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in addition to which, Natural England have designated much of our site a SSSI, this means a site of Special Scientific Interest. As custodians we are tasked with protecting the site and it’s sensitive nature and wildlife. Please help us to do this by following the site notices and keeping to the footpaths. Please ensure that you use the litter bins provided along the route, litter can cause serious problems for our wildlife and waterways.
