Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Whatever your breakfast of choice – a Full English or a bowl of porridge with just a dash of cinnamon and brown sugar – we’d love to help you start your day in the best way possible. Our eggs are from High Beverly Farm just a few miles away, and our coffee is from Lonton, a sustainable artisan roaster based in the heart of Teesdale.

Our Lunch and Dinner menus are constantly changing with the seasons and local specialties; for example, depending on when you visit, you might be able to try Raby Venison of Longhorn Beef. We’re proud to be low on food miles, high on taste and supporting local producers – that’s just the way we do things here.

Please note our menus are ever changing using as much seasonal produce as possible.

Sunday Lunches

High Force is making its mark for its outstanding Sunday lunch menu. Enjoy your Sunday lunch at High Force Hotel, where dishes come with all the trimmings, including crisp roasties, seasonal vegetables and lashings of gravy. Our portions are generous, so expect pillowy home-cooked Yorkshire puddings and choice cuts of locally-sourced meat.

We serve Sunday lunch from 12pm. If you’re a larger group, booking is essential – otherwise, it’s worth walking in and making yourself comfortable. One of our friendly team will be sure to look after you and see to your order.

At The High Force Hotel, we take great pride in offering a wide range of drinks, carefully chosen for quality. Our selection includes locally brewed real ales, premium lagers, and refreshing ciders. Teas and Coffee

We have selected the very best in all that we do and tea and coffee is no exception. Our teas are supplied by TeaPigs, who we have carefully chosen for their commitment to giving back to communities that bring us our tea. They source from well-run, sustainable tea estates and always try to do the right thing when it comes to the environment. We share this ethos and are proud to supply ethical tea which has been plastic free for over 10 years.

Lonton Coffee – who’d have thought of roasting coffee in Upper Teesdale? Lonton are a small collection of individuals who have come together to source and roast only the finest coffee. Situated just a few miles away in one of the outlying villages, Lonton have become renowned for quality and being trusted providers of great tasting coffee.

Full of colour, curiosities and scenic views, the Garden Room is High Force Hotel’s showpiece space, available for fine and private dining. You can also unwind in one of the hotel’s bar. Otherwise, there’s plenty of room in our shared public spaces, with open fires, cosy nooks and a stack of newspapers – what more could you want?

Weather permitting, the hotel’s courtyard or our pretty garden also make the perfect setting for an alfresco bite or refreshing drink.
