Think tying the knot during Sunday lunch with family and friends or waving goodbye to a long career at a sumptuous dinner party with much loved colleagues. This country inn provides the perfect backdrop for you to enjoy your celebration and then fall into restful sleep in your luxurious accommodation, only a few steps away from the party.

Family Get Togethers

Whether planning a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, christening or funeral tea, High Force is an ideal venue to celebrate your special event.

Our hotel has various rooms that are suitable for different occasions and can cater for up to 100 people. Over the years, High Force has hosted many grand events and dinners; even the Prince of Wales stayed here in 1827.  With its traditional Victorian features, open fires and log burning stoves, and being just a stone’s throw from the mighty High Force Waterfall, the hotel’s meeting room is just perfect. We can cater for private lunches, dinners, meetings, training sessions and are the perfect place to celebrate any special occasions.

The function room is bright and airy with lots of space and has been tastefully designed. French doors lead outside into an enclosed courtyard,  surrounded by beautiful woodland and gardens where children can play; a beautiful spot to snap some photographs to mark the occasion.

Our talented Chef can create a bespoke menu for your special occasion, whether it be a 3-course banquet, informal buffet or afternoon tea. We love celebrations and are happy to suggest accompanying wine and reception drinks to make your event absolutely perfect.

Corporate Events, Team Building & Meeting Spaces

The High Force Hotel offers a range of spaces for corporate events and meetings. Choose from our cosy bar areas, sit by the fire in the snug or relax in our beautiful Garden Room. Or in the summer months enjoy our wide open spaces where you can work outdoors on the patio, in the courtyard or in the garden.

Due to our fantastic, rural setting the hotel is popular for hosting team-building events, allowing colleagues to explore the great outdoors. We can arrange for a variety of outdoor activities such as archery, clay pigeon shooting, climbing and kayaking.

We have 10 individually designed en-suite bedrooms on offer at the High Force Hotel, with options for double or twin beds. Perfect for an extended business stay in the Durham Dales. Share a group dinner in our Garden Room and a hearty Teesdale breakfast the following morning to kickstart a productive day.
