General FAQs

Is High Force dog friendly?

Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome at High Force Waterfall and in the Hotel. We would ask that visitors please keep dogs on leads during your visit to protect our sensitive plants and wildlife. Be especially careful with dogs around the car park area, not only for the safety of your dog but also to protect livestock in adjoining fields.

We also offer pet friendly rooms at the hotel. A small fee of £10 per stay applies, and if you let us know at the time of booking, we’ll add some ‘doggie treats’ to your room ready for your arrival. Situated where we are, you’ll be spoilt for choice for ‘walkies’. Please ask a member of staff for more information.

Is photography allowed?

We encourage our guests and visitors to take pictures of the wonderful scenery around us and we would love for you to share them with us too on our social media pages. However, prior permission must be sought from the Raby Estate for any commercial photography or filming. The use of drones on or above the ground at High Force is also strictly prohibited without express prior permission, this is to protect the health and safety of all visitors and staff. Drones have been known to cause disturbances to wildlife and birds. Anyone caught flying a drone will be asked to leave by our staff.

Can I bring a picnic?

Visitors are permitted to bring along a picnic to enjoy in our designated picnic areas outside the hotel, where there are plenty of tables with surrounding views of the beautiful countryside.
