A Staindrop development has launched the first collection of high-quality homes at its prestigious East Leaze site. The marketing suite is now open for prospective residents to explore the scheme and the calibre of homes being delivered.

Raby Homes’ selection of twelve traditionally inspired yet contemporary house types, designed by award-winning architect Ben Pentreath, are priced between £168,000 and £570,000. The unique collection of homes exudes countryside living and heritage character focusing on the highest principles of traditional architecture with a contemporary feel.

Featuring a mix of layouts and bedroom options to suit different stages of life, including one and two-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom bungalows, two-bedroom and three-bedroom terraced properties, three-bedroom semi-detached homes and spacious four-bedroom detached properties, Pentreath’s designs seek to draw the best of the past, but for modern day life.

Features throughout the properties include a mix of natural stone and rendered elevations, solid timber front doors, sliding sash windows, traditional chimneys and natural stone window surrounds. These unexpected- details of such quality are what sets this development apart and celebrates Raby’s commitment to using local suppliers such as Dunhouse Quarry.

Duncan Peake, CEO at Raby Estates said: “The construction of the new homes at East Leaze is progressing well, with the aim of creating a sustainably designed and thoughtfully planned extension to the village and community.

“Our marketing suite is now open and we warmly invite prospective residents to come and view the scheme, learn more about the development and discuss the available plots.”

The wider East Leaze scheme, which takes its name from the history of the area following research through the archives at Raby Castle, will also deliver positive enhancements for nature including public and open green spaces, ornamental planting and a wildflower meadow, while retaining many of the existing trees and hedgerows.

The development is also expected to bring economic benefits to Staindrop, supporting existing village services and helping the local community to thrive. It will also contribute towards the county’s growing housing requirements and the creation of a sustainable new community.

Helen Asken, sales executive at Raby Homes said: “I am delighted to introduce home buyers to the range of homes at East Leaze, suited to different lifestyles and ages, and help bring to life the overall vision for this development at this early stage.

“The main infrastructure at the site is now installed and over the coming months, the buildings will become wind and watertight, allowing works to move towards completion.”

The first phase of the development is situated in the north-west of the site, with homes expected to be available from early 2027, and the complete development will comprise of 72 properties in a variety of styles and layouts, including affordable housing options.

All phases of the development are being overseen by Raby Homes, a new venture by Raby Estates, ensuring that the high design and build quality are maintained throughout the scheme.
