Sophie Brown, events and sales manager at Raby Estates said:
“We’ve hosted New Year’s Day walks here at Raby before and they have always proved popular as a fantastic way to start the new year.
“Not only can people enjoy the incredible scenery across our park, but they can do so knowing that they are helping a worthwhile cause – it’s a really great incentive and what a positive way to begin 2026.”
Vicky Wilkinson-Rhea, Community Fundraiser at Marie Curie said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as Raby Estates’ Charity of the Year 2026. The vital funds raised through this partnership will help us to provide expert end of life care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families, across the North East.
“The New Year’s Day charity walk in the Estate’s beautiful grounds is a great way to kick off our year of fundraising. Stay tuned for what else we have in store for 2026!”
Raby will be celebrating the start of 2026 with free entry to the Deer Park and Walled Gardens on New Year’s Day, with a reduced ticket price for Raby Castle at Christmas at £7 for adults, with children entering for free, alongside a £5 entry ticket to The Plotters’ Forest for both adults and children.
