The Raby Buildings Team have completed their latest restoration project Hilton Hall, a grade 2 listed building.
The Raby Estates team have been carefully restoring and renovating the historic building whilst retaining its unique historic features. The original ceiling mouldings and timber shutters have been kept and restored using traditional methods. During the investigative works, the team also uncovered historic elements of the former chapel of St Catherine, a chantry to Staindrop Church with which we have worked closely with Durham County Council and Historic England to retain this historical feature.
The property has been updated for modern living, a new central heating system has been installed. The grounds have also undergone a full renovation with a new circular driveway and formal garden overlooking the nearby village of Ingleton.
The Estate are hosting an open day on Thursday 6th October between 10am – 2pm with time slots running every half an hour, for local visitors to come and see the incredible transformation of this historic property, which will soon be available as a residential let. The final property comprises of 4 bedrooms with 2 en-suites, large kitchen and living room with original decorative features and would make an ideal family home.
