The Plotters’ Forest

The Plotters’ Forest is an immersive outdoor playground located in a magical Christmas Tree Plantation here at Raby Castle, Park & Gardens. Join us for The Little Gardeners Trail where children search for hidden garden items amongst the winding paths, ticking them off on their trail sheet as they go. Don’t forget to look out for the letters amongst the trees, write them down and unscramble to reveal the hidden word!

This Half Term, the Plotters’ Forest will be home to a Children’s Seed Planting Station. Little ones can choose their very own seed to plant, take home and take care of – Inspiring the next generation of gardeners.

Castle Family Activities

This May Half Term Children go FREE into Raby Castle with their Plotters’ Forest ticket. Pick up a Castle Quest trail sheet and find answers to the questions as you journey through the magnificent castle.

A Family Castle Explorers Tour will be taking place at 1pm Daily. A special tour with a member of the castle team where children will be given a selection of photos of items to find throughout the tour, a fun and engaging way to explore Raby Castle.

Children: Join the Victorian Workforce (29th & 31st May). Step back in time to the year 1900 and experience life as part of a Victorian workforce at Raby Castle. On this special family tour, join the Butler as he takes you on a fascinating journey through the castle, showcasing the demanding roles of those who served during the Victorian era.

The Deer Park & Walled Gardens

Bumble Bee Safari Trail, FREE with a Deer Park & Gardens or Plotters’ Forest ticket. Soak up the Spring sunshine as you wander through the stunning Walled Gardens, looking out for all of the hidden objects and fascinating facts about bumble bees, ticking them off on your trail sheet as you go. The perfect way to keep little ones engaged and inquisitive as they adventure through the beautiful, 5-acre, Walled Gardens.

The Garage Café & Coach House Shop

Refuel with a pit-stop at the newly-opened Garage Café, located in The Coach Yard. Indulge in delicious Brymor Ice cream, hot or cold drinks and an array of snacks. We have a wonderful selection of Jellycats and children’s toys in The Coach House Shop, perfect for those Half Term pocket money treats!

May Bank Holiday Weekend

Saturday 24th – Monday 26th May

Spend the late May Bank Holiday here at Raby Castle, Park & Gardens. Our Estate Chef will be cooking up a storm at the Bank Holiday BBQ in the Coach Yard, including Estate Venison and Longhorn Beef as well as a variety of vegan options. Tractor & Trailer Rides will be taking place throughout the weekend and are FREE with any Deer Park & Gardens or Plotters’ Forest Tickets.
