Discover the high-stakes of the Rising of the North, when Charles Neville, 6th Earl of Westmorland, risked everything in an attempt to overthrow Elizabeth I. His involvement in the doomed rebellion forced the family into exile and changed the course of Raby’s story. Journey forward to the 17th century and the life of Sir Henry Vane the Younger – a radical political thinker whose outspoken beliefs in tolerance and liberty made him, in the eyes of Charles II’s government, “too dangerous to let live.” Explore the shifting allegiances of the Wars of the Roses, a dynastic struggle fuelled by plots, betrayals and factional power plays, which rippled through the Neville family and their northern strongholds.
