“Our Year 3 class recently visited Raby Castle to see the Tees River Table as part of our geography topic on the River Tees. The experience was absolutely fantastic and really brought our learning to life.
The children were completely engaged from the moment they arrived. Being able to see and touch the tactile model of the River Tees helped them to visualise its journey from source to mouth in a way that classroom lessons simply can’t replicate. They were able to connect what they’d learned in school with the real geography of our local area, and it deepened their understanding enormously.
Keith was incredibly informative and engaging, explaining the features of the river in a clear and age-appropriate way. His enthusiasm and knowledge made the session both educational and enjoyable for the pupils (and the adults!).
Visiting the exhibition table before our trip to High Force gave the children a valuable context for what they would see later in the day, helping them to make meaningful links between the model and the real landscape.
We are very grateful for such a well-organised and enriching visit – thank you to Keith and the team at Raby Castle for providing such a wonderful learning opportunity”.
