Raby Coach Yard

(Please note, our Coach Yard is currently closed to the public until further notice)

Our Coach House contains a notable collection of 18th and 19th century coaches and carriages.

You will see 18th century travelling chariots, bearing the arms of the Earl of Darlington, the Raby State Coach, built in the early 19th century for the Duke of Cleveland, and hand-operated, horse-drawn fire engines.

The Tack Room

Marvel at the excellent display of harnesses and other trappings in the Tack Room, including an exotic Arab saddlecloth, harness and livery worn by the coachmen of Raby in the Edwardian era.

Courtyard Area

The courtyard is also home to our Tearooms, Gift Shop and outdoor seating and refreshment area. These spaces were completely refurbished in 2018 to offer a welcoming environment for visitors to eat and drink.
