Hours:                        39 hours per week

Purpose of the Job

The Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative will be based in County Durham and, as a key member of the Projects Team, will have an important role in supporting the restoration and maintenance of the Estate’s residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues whilst developing the knowledge, skills and behaviors required to achieve a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in carrying out Restoration and reactive maintenance across estate properties.
  • Develop skills in painting & decorating, plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry & joinery.
  • Assist with planned inspections and reactive maintenance.
  • Learn safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of work undertaken.
  • Support other trades across the Estate.

Qualifications

English and Maths GCSE Grade 4/C or above. Apprenticeship duration: 24 months plus 3 months EPA. One day per week attendance at Bishop Auckland College. Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard.
