On 8th June, farms up and down the country will be giving people a chance to experience everyday farm life first hand and learn more about how the food on our plates is produced. Open Farm Sunday will feature our local produce market, exciting tractor rides and much more!

Agricultural and Countryside Talks

Head to Riding School for regenerative farming, Tees River Trust, National Moorland Group and more.

Machinery Displays

Get up close and personal with Raby’s farming machinery and learn how they are used on the land, from tractors, drills to combine harvesters.

Education Zone

Learn about farm stewardship, speak to local organisations and discover how we care for our environment. 

Tractor and Trailer Rides

Enjoy the scenic Tractor Ride that will take you through the spectacular parkland and up to the idyllic Home Farm, whilst you admire the picturesque landscapes. On your ride up to Home Farm, learn about everyday farm life and keep an eye out for our animals. You will see our famous Longhorn Cattle and of course our red and fallow deer.

The Tractor Ride is the only way to access Home Farm on the day. Booking in advance is advised and the fee is £5.00 per person. All adults and children (1+ yrs) require a ticket for the tractor ride. The full tractor tour will take approximately 45 minutes however you do not get off the trailer at any point. Tickets include all day access to The Deer Park (10am – 4pm)

As always, Tom our Estate Chef will be rustling up a storm with our mouth-watering BBQ, featuring our iconic venison meat. Delicious plant alternatives are also available. This is the perfect place to refuel during your adventures at Raby.

All of our attractions will be open as usual so why not make a day of it and purchase tickets to play in The Plotters Forest outdoor adventure playground, visit the magnificent Raby Castle, explore the picturesque Deer Park and amble through the breath-taking Walled Gardens.

Play at The Plotters’ Forest

Over in The Plotters’ Forest let your little explorer’s discover the Farmyard Fun Trail. See if you can help Farmer Charlie match the baby animals to their families and unscramble his favourite word. The Plotters’ Forest is an outdoor adventure playground located in our Christmas tree plantation here at Raby Castle. Visitors young and old will love getting lost amongst exhilarating views, sky-high turrets and treetop tunnels, before spreading out on the stargazing deck and slipping down the slide. 

Booking in advance is recommended. Tickets include 2 hours of play in The Plotters’ Forest, all day Deer Park access (10am – 4pm) and the complimentary Trail.

Date & Time: Saturday 3rd May at 1:00pm, Sunday 4th May at 1:00pm & Monday 5th May at 1:00pm.

Castle, Park and Gardens

Visit the iconic Raby Castle, built in the 14th century by the Neville family, it’s a treasure trove of history, artwork and jaw-dropping architecture and interiors. Before heading outside to the Deer Park, with 200 acres to explore and a range of wildlife on our doorstep, there is plenty to see and do across Raby Park. Discover our walking routes and see our herds of red and fallow deer.

Ticket includes all day Deer Park and Walled Gardens access (10am – 4pm) and entry into Raby Castle.
